The society was led by Woon Siong Gan. This group of people included academics, consultants and entrepreneurs in business related to acoustics. The first inaugural meeting was held in a Singapore hotel attended by some twenty people. After a few months of preparation and the drafting of the society’s constitution and submission to the Registry of Societies Singapore, the application was approved and Woon Siong Gan became the first president of the society.
