A novel way to determine in-situ sound absorption & case studies

Zoom webinar, 13 December 2022, 4:00 (GMT+8)
Topic: A novel way to determine in-situ sound absorption & case studies
Speaker: Mr.Ysbrand Wijnant

In this matters lecture webinar, Ysbrand will briefly introduce the theoretical aspects of the Sonocat. A demonstration of the probe and the software will be conducted in this session. The speaker will also address some case studies and show the measurements, validating the used approach.

Design of Floating Floors and Robust Noise and Vibration Control using Recycled Elastometric Material

Zoom seminar, 10 Novmber 2022, 4:00 (GMT+8)
Topic: ” Design of Floating Floors and Robust Noise and Vibration Control using Recycled Elastometric Material”
Speaker: Mr.Paul Downey

His short profile:

Mr Paul Downey,P.Eng. is the founder and CEO of Pliteq Inc., based in Canada, with branches in UK and in Singapore.  He is the inventor of four patented products on recycled rubber technology.  Pliteq has dedicated manufacturing facilities that produce these products and are responsible for the reuse of 16 million kg of waste rubber per year.

Design of Floating Floors Using Recycled Elastomers:
Reducing Embodied Carbon

Zoom seminar, 30 August 2022, 4:00 – 5:00 PM (GMT+8)
Topic: “Design of Floating Floors Using Recycled Elastomers: Reducing Embodied Carbon”
Speaker: James Bligh- Technical Director

His short profile:

James Bligh is the Technical Director, specialising in engineered acoustic systems from recycled materials. Having over a decade of experience in Acoustics, his career has been equally split between Acoustic Consultancy and Acoustic Engineering. Leveraging Pliteq’s commitment to providing third party laboratory data to support Acoustic specifications and design, his focus is on reducing embodied carbon in acoustic design, whilst providing excellent Acoustic conditions in buildings and infrastructure.

Short summary of talk:  This talk will be on the recycling of materials to produce sound insulation material which will enable the reduction of material thickness and hence carbon emission.

Workshop 26 November 11:00 – 11:50 by Tim Kuschel

Summary:
Road tunnels present some of the most hostile of acoustic environments. Designing audio systems for life safety in these spaces is particularly challenging. While there may appear to be some similarities between projects, each road tunnel provides unique challenges for the selection + design of audio system components. A detailed understanding of the acoustic environment within each project is vital to the design of a successful outcome. Read more.

We just finished the first e-workshop for members and non-members on 3 September 2020, thanks to all speakers and participants.
